Data Deletion Policy
Updated Date: August 11, 2025
USEE Limited ("USEE", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to providing users with clear mechanisms to request the deletion of their personal data. This Data Deletion Policy outlines the procedures for users to request deletion of their data, the types of data subject to deletion, and the timeline for processing such requests, in compliance with applicable regulations and platform requirements.
1. Types of Data Subject to Deletion
Upon user request, we will delete the following categories of personal data, unless retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes:
- User account information (profile data, contact details, authentication data)
- User-generated content (messages, photos, videos, and other media)
- Usage data (interaction history, feature usage patterns)
- Location data (if collected and associated with the user)
- Device information linked to the user account
- Analytics data tied to individual user identifiers
Certain data may be retained temporarily for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or as required by law.
2. Data Deletion Request Procedures
2.1 In-App Deletion
Users can initiate data deletion directly through the USEE application:
- Navigate to "Settings" from the main menu
- Select "Account" or "Privacy" options
- Choose "Delete My Data" or "Account Deletion"
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your request
2.2 Request via Email
Users may submit deletion requests via email to our Data Protection Officer at:
Requests must include:
- User's registered email address or phone number
- Clear statement requesting data deletion
- Sufficient information to verify the user's identity
3. Processing Timeline and Confirmation
We will process data deletion requests within 30 days of receipt, in accordance with applicable requirements. The processing timeline may be extended by an additional 30 days for complex requests, with notification to the user. Upon completion of the data deletion process, users will receive a confirmation notification via email or in-app message, confirming:
- Confirmation that the requested data has been deleted
- Details of any data retained and the legal basis for retention
- Information on any residual data that cannot be practically deleted
4. Implementation of Data Deletion
Data deletion is implemented through the following methods, depending on the data type and storage location:
- Permanent deletion from active databases
- Anonymization of data such that it can no longer identify a user
- Removal from backup systems (with confirmation once completed)
- Deletion from third-party service providers acting on our behalf
We maintain procedures to ensure that deleted data cannot be recovered or accessed after the deletion process is complete.
5. Third-Party Data Sharing
When users request data deletion, we will take reasonable steps to inform third parties with whom we have shared user data about the deletion request, to the extent required by applicable law. Users should be aware that certain data shared with other users through the service (such as messages already delivered) may not be retrievable or deletable from those users' devices.
6. Data Retention Exceptions
We may retain certain data after a deletion request in the following circumstances:
- To comply with applicable legal obligations, including tax, audit, and reporting requirements
- To resolve disputes, enforce our terms of service, and protect our legal rights
- For public health or safety purposes
- Anonymized or aggregated data that no longer identifies any individual user
Any data retained under these exceptions will be protected with appropriate security measures and will not be used for other purposes.
7. Appeals and Dispute Resolution
If a user believes their data deletion request has not been properly processed, they may submit an appeal to our Data Protection Officer at [email protected] within 45 days of receiving our decision. We will review appeals within 30 days and provide a written response explaining our decision. Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
8. Policy Updates
This Data Deletion Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in regulatory requirements or our data processing practices. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy with a new "Updated Date". Continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
